Depending on the type of work being performed, a plan review (plan check) by a department plan check engineer may be required prior to issuing a permit. Permits requiring plan check are issued after the plans have been reviewed and approved by the Department.
For permits that do not require plan check (Express Permits), a permit can be obtained over the counter or online.
